K E S H O . LION . OUTSIDER
This is where I belonged.
The outlands were a place where no one cared about appearances, and it was clear in the conditions of our home. While some longed for the beauty and cleanliness of the Pridelands, I was content here. This is where I was born. I was never taken from the Pridelands; I'd never spent more than a few hours there, watching one of the most anti-climatic fights in our history, and so what was there to miss? The ones who sat on the edge of our land wishing and wanting for the lush green grasses and clean drinking water, and the plentiful game, well they could have it. We were free of those jealous souls, now. Queen Kiara had invited all of those losers to her posh home months ago, and now we had some peace and quiet around here.
Alright, admittedly, clean drinking water would be nice. And would someone please find me something to eat? Yeah, I supposed the grass was greener over there, literally and figuratively. Nonetheless, this was still my home. And I was still loyal to Scar, rest his soul. It was the good ol' days, during Scar's reign, that I was reminiscing of as I plodded along to the swamp. This was the best, and only, source of water on our side, and it never quite quenched one's thirst, but it would do. When you had no choice, you had nothing to miss. Eyeing the water's edge as I approached, I looked for any sign of alligators waiting to take my head off as soon as I ducked my head. I kicked a small stone to the edge with my paw and it rolled into the water. Plop! I paused, but nothing happened. Satisfied, though very aware I could have just brought their attention to me, I continued my stroll to the edge of the water. I ducked my head and drank deeply, as quickly as I could, and when I'd gotten enough, I turned to my left where an old fallen tree hovered over the swamp, held up by it's old stump. I leaped up rather gracefull and spread out longways, letting left front leg dangle over the edge.
