The Canons

Simba is the former king of the Pridelands. Older now, he has stepped aside to let his daughter and her mate take over at Pride Rock. Still, Simba hangs around to give advice and watches Kiara and Kovu carefully to make sure they are safe, and fair in their rulings. He is the son of the great king Mufasa, and is still madly in love with his mate, Nala, his childhood best friend. Taken by @renea

N A L A

Nala grew up in the Pridelands, getting into trouble with her best friend Simba. She then grew up to become his mate, and the queen. She is a compassionate queen, where her mother in law was strong, and the Pridelanders still love her, though she has stepped down to allow her daughter to become queen. She can be a little more sarcastic, and definitely where Kiara got her independent streak.

K I A R A

Kiara is the current queen of Pride Rock, ruling along side her mate, Kovu. Daughter of Simba and Nala, the former, now retired, king and queen. She is expecting her first cubs. While worried about being a good queen and a good mom, Kiara is also worried about her sister-in-law, with whom she recently had a falling out and has not heard from since. Kiara is under the impression that Vitani left Pride Rock angrily and has tried to go visit her and resolve their issues, but Kovu won't let her go. She's also hurt at Vitani's words prior to her leaving. Taken by F L I N.

K O V U

Kovu is the acting king of the Pridelands, having gained this position through his betrothal to his mate Kiara. Kovu's mother, the late Zira, was the ruler of the Outlands. Kovu had a checkered past, but has found his way into good graces with the former king, his father in law Simba. He's since secretly banished his sister Vitani following a threat against his mate and their unborn cubs, and is hiding this from Kiara. Taken by wakaidi

Vitani grew up in the Outlands, daughter of the late Zira, and sister of Kovu and the late Nuka. Her only purpose in life, as she grew, was to help get Kovu on the throne so that the Outsiders could take over Pride Rock. Her alliance shifted during Zira's fight with Simba, and Kiara explained that the Pridelanders and the Outsiders were the same, one. However, after Zira's death, Vitani started to resent her newfound friend. Soon, she and Kiara and Kovu were fighting often, and Vitani finally crossed the line when she said Kiara shouldn't be pregnant, and she would be an awful mother. Kovu talked to her alone later and banished her, and Vitani guessed Kiara was behind it, deciding Kiara wasn't as tolerant as she pretended to be, so she left to take over the Outlands. taken by Davie

Timon is a meerkat, best friend to Pumbaa the warthog, and rescuer of the young Simba of the past.

P U M B A A

Pumbaa is Timon's warthog best friend. He's loud, and his name means "foolish", but Pumbaa is a loyal and protective friend, and will be the bravest of the bunch if his friends are in danger. He talked Timon into helping Simba as a cub, and the three have had a lasting friendship as a result.

R A F I K I

Rafiki is the long-time Royal Adviser of the Pridelands, having been by Mufasa's, Simba's, and now Kovu's and Kiara's sides. He is loud and outgoing, and enjoys being annoying at times. However, Rafiki is very wise and can read omens and communicate with the kings of the past.

Z A Z U

Zazu is the cynical, but noble majordomo of the King. He's been put through plenty while watching out for the cubs of Pride Rock, but he hasn't lost his edge.

S H E N Z I

Her name means "savage" and she lives up to it. Shenzi is the cold, but smart one of her group of hyenas. She was loyal to Scar until she realized he'd used the hyenas, and led the attack on him in the end, which resulted in his death. Now she resides with her friends in the Outlands, but Vitani is back and thinks she's in charge, and Shenzi is more than a little put out by that.

B A N Z A I

Banzai is more comical than his friend Shenzi, less intelligent. He's also hot-headed at times. He was angry with Scar in the end, and helped end his life, but Banzai thinks Vitani will make a better leader.

E D

Ah...what can one say about dear Ed? xD
Insane, yes. He is a loyal follower, never questions orders, laughs as a form of communication. But Ed is aware of what's going on, and helped kill Scar.
