PERSONALITY Kesho has a rather bleak view on life, and a dark sense of humor. He's usually fairly negative, and isn't afraid to speak up and tell you if you're reaching too far for something. He has little faith in others and believes wholeheartedly that if you want something done right, you do it yourself. He's not the one who you go to if you need a favor, because while he thinks he can do everything better than everyone else, he thinks you need to learn to do things yourself, because "life is hard, and you can't always expect help from everyone else". Kesho also has quite an ego, and thinks very highly of himself. He's arrogant and conceited, and he feels like he'd make a great king, if only he put some effort behind it. He's sarcastic, and sometimes mean-spirited, but if he thinks he's got am easy chance with a girl, he'll compliment her to no end. Play hard to get, though, and he'll drop you in a second and move one. Because while Kesho has no doubt in his abilities, he's also rather lazy, and doesn't put any effort into anything. Even though he lives in the Outlands, he doesn't care. He's alive, and there's no point killing himself to try and get somewhere like the Pridelands, even if he could be king. The only thing Kesho really craves in the world, deep down, is a sense of family. It's the only thing that makes him jealous, even though he'd be hard pressed to admit it. But he doesn't believe in family, and he believes that everyone is truly out for themselves and no one really appreciates it. HISTORY Kesho was born just after Kovu, the first cub to be born in the Outlands. He'd never known the beauty of the Pridelands, expect what he'd glimpsed from a distance. His parents were not together, and his father was barely a part of his life. While Kesho saw him around the Outlands, they never had a relationship. His mother was overwhelmed, having three young cubs on her own, with no offer of help from the lionesses of her pride. They spent much of their time living on the outskirts, away from the other lions, as Kesho was a handful, usually in some sort of trouble when he was around the others. When Kovu left to infiltrate the Pridelands, Kesho spent a lot of time tracking his progress, and having grown into a rather careless naysayer as a young adult, Kesho was not surprised when Kovu fell for the princess, and didn't expect the plan to work. During the big fight between Zira and Simba, Kesho stayed back, merely spectating from a distance. He watched with curiosity as Kiara and Simba had their heart to heart and Kiara accepted the Outsiders into their pride. Kesho knew he wouldn't be able to stand living under Simba's rule, and even more so Kovu's since he had once been an outsider himself and should know how hypocritical he was being when he was supposed to kill his beloved father in law. So, along with a small handful of Scar-loyalists, Kesho headed back to the Outlands. His reaction to Vitani's return is neutral, though he is slightly annoyed that she's decided to take charge again, seeing as she was the first to switch sides. He sees her more of a traitor, but doesn't care enough to do anything about it. |
