Vurugu
personality Vurugu is a harsh, no-nonsense lion, with neither a negative nor positive attitude. He values power above most other things. At the same time, he has quite a soft spot for cubs. In fact, he'll do almost anything to protect little ones. However, he won't let that get in the way of his quest for power. He prefers listening over speaking, and most of what he says is an observation rather than an opinion. He's constantly looking for a way to move up in the world and reach his ultimate goal: becoming king. King of anything, Pridelands or Outlands. He'll try anything. He's even willing to leave and start his own pride. But that takes time, and he'd much rather do things the easy way. First he'll try getting close to the queen, and if that doesn't work, he'll move along. He's a highly independent lion, one of the rare ones willing to hunt for his own meals. Of course, in the Outlands, every lion should be willing to do that as long as they want to survive. Well, that's his opinion, anyway. His loyalties lie with himself, and whoever is on his side, but only as long as they're on his side. If they make him feel betrayed in the least, he'll suddenly be willing to destroy them. And Vurugu doesn't hesitate. history He was born to rogue parents, trying to start a pride. As a young cub, he was happy. He was relatively well-fed, and his parents were good to him and each other. It all came crashing down when a group of male rogues came along. His mother hid Vurugu in the tall grass and disappeared, never to be seen by him again. He could hear a fight, not too far away, but by the time he'd worked up the courage to leave his hiding spot it was too late. Not that a cub could have been much help. In any case, the rogues had left the immediate area. Vurugu knew they would still be around; they were probably just exploring their new territory. He ran as far and as fast as he could. He learned, over time, how to catch food for himself, starting with mice and lizards and working his way up as he grew. He wandered from land to land as a rogue. For a long while he wanted revenge, but he had become the very thing he set out to destroy. He realized it was an impossible quest. One lion can't wipe out every rogue in the world. It was then that he decided to change his plan. He had to find a pride. His first choice was the Pridelands, of course. There was plenty of prey and water there. But he heard about Kovu by listening in to the birds' conversations. It seemed like overthrowing the new king would prove too difficult for the young lion. He didn't have to wait very long to learn about what happened between Vitani and Kovu. He seized the opportunity presented to him. He followed her tracks, all the way to the Outlands. He waited a while, to be safe, before he joined the pride. |
