Simba
PERSONALITY Simba has always been a rather mysterious and complicated Lion. As a young cub, he was always known as being free-spirited, childish, arrogant, and careless. He had a large ego, but his self esteem plummeted after the death of his father, a lion the young male loved and idolized. When it came to his past as he aged, the young lion was known for getting very defensive, but this has seen changed as he feels he can talk about his past more openly now. As he grew he developed a strong-will and became very accountable, mostly because he wanted to better himself due to what he believed was the pain and turmoil he caused. At one point, he would blame any troubles on others, but he did face the truth and admit it later down the road. But, again now he knows to take responsibility for his mistakes and troubles. Simba is not one who accepts bullying towards others, especially his mother, and he won't allow abuse of any kind in his presence. As a challenge comes his way, he becomes rough and refuses to compromise no matter what. He is extremely brave, wanting nothing more than to defend his land and his pride. Though he has a very rough and hard exterior, he is good at heart, even willing to spare his late-uncle's life when he deserved much needed revenge. Instead of taking out his revenge on his late-uncle, he issued exile to the older lion, learning about mercy within authority, something he felt his father would have done. After the birth of his daughter, Kiara, he became extremely protective of the young cub and this continued into her older years. His maturity increased as he learned to rule the Prideland with his father's wisdom. Having brought the Prideland back to it's former Glory. Simba is fair and just, but before the birth of his daughter, he found out that there were those still loyal to Scar, so he had them exiled. Even though he loves his daughter, when she was young and before the Prideland and Outland lions came together again, he did not trust or fully respect her. At the time, he saw himself as the older and wiser of the Pride and his family, this caused his focus to be mostly on his family and this caused harm in different ways. In his own determination to keep his kingdom and family safe from any harm, he went from slow-to-anger to arrogance, paranoia, and suspicion. This caused him to jump to conclusions before he has all the facts straight. Due to this, his enemies could easily take advantage of this and bait him and he would sometimes abandon all form of reason. After a terrible struggle with outsiders, he learned of his arrogance and turned from it. This allowed him to accept the Outlands, though his enemy, Zira did not agree. Simba learned that not everyone is going to be like their past family. He has now become the lion his father would have wanted to be, Forgiving and Just. He became calm, assertive, able to handle tough situations. Though his heart still guides him, he loves his family and Kingdom. He wants to be wise and he doesn't want to make fool choices. He wants to help his daughter and her husband make good choices as well. HISTORY Simba was born on a beautiful spring morning to Mufasa, King of the Pridelands and his mate, Sarabi. A few weeks after his birth, when his eyes opened, Mufasa called the Pridelands together, so that he could show his son, the Prince of the Pridelands, to his subjects. The Baboon known as Rafiki came and gave the child a Blessing before taking him to let the whole Prideland see him and when he was shown, great rejoice came from the beast and animals below. The Lionesses of his Pride roared with honor and Simba was known to all. Of course, not everyone came to see the young Prince, one whom knew of him for many weeks hated him the young cub, as he went from being second in line to third in line. It was only a matter of time before that line lengthened and he knew he had to get rid of the child. After another week or two, Simba had grown into a playful young cub. He would wake early in the morning and begin his adventures, going about in hopes to get into as much trouble as possible. One particular morning, he woke his father, claiming he had made a promise and it took many attempts to get his father awake. It was after the older lion was awake that they walked the trail up Pride-Rock so that Simba could see the land before the mighty rock. It was explained that this would one day be his Kingdom, though at the time of a young cub, he did not understand the true responsibility of this burden. He traveled with his father down to the lands below, learning of how each animal and beast was connected to each other. How one day, his body would turn to dust and his dust would become grass and the animals that he fed upon would eat him. It was strange and confusing at first, but even he would one day understand it. After a little pouncing lesson that day, his father had to go and take care of hyenas, a disgusting animal that Lions seemed to hate. Well, being that Simba didn't get to go with his father, he was escorted back to his mother by Zazu and he met up with Nala, his best friends. The two made plans quickly on the way to the watering hole to ditch Zazu and go to a place called the Elephant Graveyard, which he was told about by his Uncle Scar before Zazu took him to his mother. The plan was successful and they went straight for the Graveyard, but it was a trap and the Hyenas were their to greet them. The two tried to make it out by themselves, but were nearly killed when Mufasa came to the rescue. The older lion was very angry, but he did not take out his anger on his son or anyone. He sent the hyenas away and the three lions returned home. After making it to where they could see Pride Rock, he had Zazu take Nala home before he spoke to his son and told him how disappointed he was and also how scared he was. A few days later, Simba took a stroll with his Uncle, a lion he looked up to and enjoyed his time with, even if the Lion didn't feel the same way. After a few moments, the Lion left and told Simba there was a Surprise his father wanted him to see, but in reality, it was a plan to have them both killed so he could being King of the Pridelands. It turned into a nightmare when a stampede came through the gorge that Simba had been left in. Simba ran for his life and finally found a dead tree to get on to stay out of the hooves and the horns. Simba was scared and suddenly, the tree snapped and he went flying through the air before he was caught by his father. After many moments of struggling Simba was put on a ledge and his father went back into the thundering hooves. Simba tried to make it to his father, but he last saw his father alive when the Lion fell to his death... Simba found him lying on the ground and was heartbroken when he couldn't get the older lion to awaken from his forever sleep. Not long later, Scar appeared and convinced Simba that he had to leave because it had been him that Killed his father. Simba couldn't believe it, but he did and he ran away, telling himself he would never return. He was chased to the desert by hyenas and some how ended up outside a jungle before he collapsed of exhaustion. Simba was found by a warthog and meerkat known as Pumbaa and Timon. The two creatures saved him, but Simba had little will to live at first. The two showed Simba how to forget his past, or bury it deep within that it no longer bothered him. Simba grew to love the animals, they became like brothers and they lived a life that to Simba was worth living. As time went by, the three were all they needed, that was until a Lioness came hunting Pumbaa. Simba was quick to defend him and after he realized who it was, he was amazed that he was looking at his best friend. The two bonded quickly, but it was realized that she had come to find help and wanted him to return with her. He couldn't and he couldn't tell her why. It was tough... While away that night, he encountered an old family friend, Rafiki, who told him his father wasn't dead. He thought that meant that his father was alive and well, but it was a different meaning. He had a moment where his father seemed to come back and speak to him, as if it was a bad storm that overtook him for a moment. It was beautiful and it gave him the courage to go back to his home. After arriving at home, he saw the horrible condition it was in and after being joined by his friends, they made it into the Pridelands. Simba made it past the hyenas and Nala went to find the Lionesses. After witnessing his Uncle banter and then assault his mother, he revealed himself, though most thought he was his father at first. After realizing who it was, Scar was surprised to see who it was and the two had an argument where he convinced Simba to tell everyone he killed his father. It was then that Scar tried to kill him, but he made the mistake of telling Simba the truth and this gave Simba the rage to deal with Scar and soon started an all out battle between Lions and Hyenas. It was only a matter of time before Scar and Simba had to fight and that came when Simba chased him to the top of Pride Rock, where the two talked for a moment. Simba called for his exile, telling him the same words he spoke to him years prior. The two soon were fighting and Simba thought he might lose, until he saw a chance to defeat his uncle by sending him over the edge when he had no choice but to defeat his uncle or die. Though he did not die at Simba's hands, he still died and it was not what he had wanted for his Uncle. Finally, the real King had come home and after walking up to the point of Pride Rock, he took his place. Was he scared? Yes but this was what he knew he had to do and it was his true place. After a few weeks of reorganizing the lands, he and Nala made it official and became mates. It wasn't much longer that they were blessed with a beautiful baby cub, a daughter that they named Kiara. Simba became extremely overprotective of the cub and it didn't help that he had to exile some lions to the Outlands, one who was pregnant with an unknown males cub and who seemed to worship Scar. Her name was Zira and Simba felt it was the only way to keep his family safe. While Kiara was growing from infant to cub, he marked many 'safe' trails for his daughter to one day explore, which seem to come much to fast for his liking. Kiara was adventurous and caring. Kiara didn't see the differences in others and this was apparent when he came across Kovu at the swamp. Simba found out from Timon and Pumbaa that she had gone missing and he made his way to the Outlands. He didn't have to go far past the boarder when he found her... Playing with a young cub that he found out was called Kovu... Simba was mad and he came face to face with Zira once again, who had lean and mean as normal. Simba protected his boarders once again and took Kiara back to the Pridelands. It wasn't long before things were worked out and he watched his daughter grow more and more every day. Finally, it came time for her to go on her first hunt... alone... Simba was worried and didn't trust that his daughter would be safe, though Nala believed she would be fine. He let her go but sent Timon and Pumbaa to follow and watch her, though he didn't know that they were found and she left the hunting area. Soon, he saw a wild fire in the distance and he went after the smoke... When he came across his daughter, she was with the male lion who he found was Kovu... He also found that the lion had rescued his daughter... Though he did not trust him, he found that he had no choice but to allow him into the lands since he owed the lion. This last for a few days and he saw how his daughter seemed to enjoy the time with the Outlander. Nala tried to convince him that Kovu was not Scar, but he still saw Scar. Finally, he thought he could speak to the Lion, but it was a trap. The Outlanders attacked him, but he managed to get away and to Pride Rock to the Pride. When he told, Kiara didn't want to believe, but soon Kovu had arrived and he sent him to exile. He sent Kiara to the caves where the Pride slept, but soon he found she was gone and then that the Outlanders were moving in. Simba assembled the Pride and they went towards the boarder and the fight began. It lasted for a little while, Lion against Lion before two lions came back... Kiara and Kovu. It was Kiara who was able to make her father see that they were not separate, but they were one. Simba wanted it to stop, so he no longer wished to fight and he saw Zira's own pride and daughter come to his Pride. He wanted to see Zira put the past behind them, but she refused and jumped towards Simba, but Kiara's, who loved her father, jumped to protect him. The two tumbled down the side of the gorge until Zira was hanging on for dear life and Kiara was trying to help her. Simba went after them and when he made it, it was too late. Zira was gone and he helped Kiara back to the top. Simba returned home with his family and not just his family, but the new Pridelanders. Kovu's exile was lifted and they let their roars be heard. Simba was proud of his daughter and he saw in her, a true leader. Simba ruled for a little longer until he felt that she and Kovu were ready for leading the Pride. He let them know he would always be there to help and be there for advice. When Kovu exiled his sister, Simba wanted to say something, but was not sure how. |
